Today, I would like to talk to you about believing in yourself. Everything that you need to accomplish your goals is within you. Having self confidence is very important. Having self confidence means that "Greater is he that is within you, than he that is in the world". Believe that there is nothing that you cannot do.
As you stay in the word of God and fuel your faith, know that you have the ability to withstand all challenges if you just believe in his word, and yourself.
You are extremely valuable. You are strong, intelligent and able to withstand. Believe in yourself. Walk boldly. Hold your head up, your shoulders back and with confidence know that whatever goal you are attempting to reach, you will. Believe in yourself enough to realize that all the hard work will pay off in a big way for you. Just continue to have confidence in yourself.
Believing in yourself and showing confidence is very infectious. People around you will start to notice a different you. Many around you will start emulating your behavior. There are those that will envy your joy. Ladies, share your knowledge, share your faith, share your confidence with others who are trying to find their way.
Believing in yourself is not arrogant, nor does it mean you are conceited. Know that it is a FINE line between believing in yourself and being arrogant. The difference between the two is one continues to have a humble heart and spirit and the other has no heart!

Faith
Having faith is something that I constantly speak on. I believe in God and I have faith in his word. I have faith that he will and can change your circumstances. Faith is having confidence. Faith is having confidence in God, and knowing that his word will not and does not come back void. Faith is having confidence in knowing that your situation, whether it is spiritual, physical, financial, humanitarian, etc., will change.
Having the confidence in knowing that there is a God who is still in control. We are here today because of people who came before us that stood on their faith, who believed that God will and can change their circumstances. Having faith in God and confidence in his word will allow you to move mountains.
As you look aound at what is happening in our world today, have faith that God is still in control. When you see your finances, your marriage, your children, your life is out of your control, have faith that God is still in control. Have the confidence in him to know that he will and can change all to work in your favor. Continue to feed your spirit with the word of God. Read your bible, continue to allow his words to renew your faith and build your confidence so that you are able to walk with a bold authority.

Blessings
Blessings come in many forms. Sometimes, God will put people in your path to help you. Sometimes, he will put you in the right position on a job. Yes, blessings come in many ways and you just have to recognize when a blessing is there for you.
If you have good health. If you are able to walk around and carry on a conversation with another person, then you are blessed. If you are able to maintain your household in these trying times, then you are blessed. If your children, husband, mother, father, sisters and brothers are alive and well, then you are blessed.
Even though times may be tough, know that you are blessed. There are many people without their basic needs being met today. Many that did not get out of bed. Many suffering from depression, anxiety, or just economic overload.
We must all hold on the fact that everything will work out for our good. That we are blessed and favored. Know that the gift given to you if you were able to hug your child this morning. Know that you are blessed if you are able to smile and say hello to someone in need of kindness.

Abuse
People who treat other people as less than human must not be surprised when the bread they have cast on the waters comes floating back to them, poisoned. ~
Abuse in any form is unacceptable. Whether it is mental, physical, psycological or verbal, ABUSE IN ANY FORM IS UNACCEPTABLE!
There are a lot of sick people in this world. There are the readily identifiable mentally unstable, there are the undercover sick and mentally unstable who are in positions of power and are monsters preying on those who are unable to defend themselves, there are those that use the law as a shield to justify their sick behavior to abuse, shoot and kill. There are husbands, wives and children being abused in some horrible form everyday.
Ladies, if you are in an abusive relationship, LEAVE NOW! If you know or see a child that is being abused, please alert someone immediately. We are our brothers keepers. We must step outside sometimes and get involved. We must say something and do something to protect and help those that are in these unfortunate situations. Please talk to someone. Know that any form of abusive behavior is not normal, nor is it alright. Stop settling! Realize that you are better than the situation you are in and must get out. Do not allow fear to keep you trapped. Know that God is in control, not that monster! Take the first step and get out!
I must say this, PEOPLE keep an eye on your neighbors! We have become such a "me" society, a computer, touch screen, digital society that human contact is very, very brief. Please step out of your little world and watch what is going on around your neighborhood. We must stop saying, "I don't want to get involved". GET INVOLVED! You just may save someone's life. If you hear a lot of arguing, if you see someone being abused, CALL SOMEONE, you may just save a life.
If you know of someone who is being abused, please help them get out of this situation. If you are in an abusive situation, please ask for help to remove yourself from the situation. If you know of children or a child being abused, please let someone know.

What Happened To The Church
What happened to the church? The church was a place for worship, to congregate, get closer to your God. The church was a place that you could feel safe, a sense of relief. If you needed guidance, you could go to the church members and be welcomed with open arms. The leaders of the church were compassionate to those in need. The church was a place where you could send your child without worry. What happened to the church?
I will say that this is not about ALL churches, because there are churches around that help those in need, they are compassionate to those less fortunate, they are sincerely trying to teach the word of God and save lives. This is strictly directed to those churches that are about MONEY and their SELFISH needs and wants.
I will say this, that everyone that shouts the name of the lord is not of God. There are a lot of CON artist in the church that prey on the less fortunate, the vunerable, those that are seeking guidance. There are a lot of churches that are just fronts. Ask yourself, how many building funds do they really need. How has the church in your neighborhood helped your community? Are they reaching out to the community WITHOUT charging you a fee and calling it a workshop? Are they saving lives without a hidden agenda attached?
Why do churches feel they have to be MEGA to be effective? Why is it that your blessings are based on how much money you put in the bucket on Sunday? Why are your seminars, workshops and conferences (which are geared to help others) priced where those that need the help cannot afford to attend and the church refuses to allow anyone to attend that cannot pay.
There are many churches and church members who are not right, who are not of God, who are just greedy asses who prey on the sick, needy and lost. There are church leaders who are only about the money, or their sick twisted needs.
So while you are in church, listening to the word of God, taking in the beautiful music, and being told how you will receive your reward, watch your purse.
Again this is not all churches, and I will not name the particular church I am speaking of, believe me they know who they are, but this is rampant in churches. My thing is this, if MONEY is your priority just say it, be about it, own it. Do not pretend that you are about God and you are really about self.

Robbed Without A Gun
I am sure many of you have heard about the budget cuts that are being considered by our state and federal governments. I have spoke on this many times on this blog. I have encouraged all my readers to contact their state and federal representatives to let them know that you do not appreciate the cuts being made to impact the poor, the elderly or our children. I feel like they have been robbed without a gun.
This is extremely important for everyone of us to get involved. I have spoken on the price of food skyrocketing, housing prices, medical benefits being cut and education for our children being priced out of reach. This is not a dire warning, this is a code blue warning (STAT), which means that this is an EMERGENCY! You and I must do something before it is too late.
Even though we are told continuously why we are in this mess, I for one still do not understand. We spend BILLIONS to keep other countries afloat. We spend BILLIONS to feed, educate and provide clothing and housing to other countries. We spend BILLIONS on a prison system that is broken. We spent BILLIONS to bail out BANKS and FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS (WTF)! We pay a lot of money for the salaries of people representing us, statewise and federal, to be ignored, unrepresented and outright LIED TO. We have been robbed without a gun!
There has to be a moment soon where the people, WE THE PEOPLE, say no more! Any one with any common sense should know that you take care of HOME FIRST, then you venture out to help others.
We should all feel like we have been robbed (without a gun). The hard work, sweat, blood and tears that my parents and their parents put into making this country great, has been for naught. The sacrifices that I have made through all my years of working to provide for my family and to have a small nest egg when I retire has been taken away from me. Yes, I am very upset and angry about the chain of events happening, and each and everyone of you should feel the same way.
The talk about cutting social security, unemployment, aid to families with dependent children, medical and medicare, housing for the poor, food to feed the needy, etc., should make each of us say "NO MORE". We are the victims in this mess. We have allowed our representatives to play russian roulette with our livelyhood and a bullet just went off.
And all this has been done without a gun.

Disrepectful Children
This is a subject that I really have a hard time with. Disrespectful children, whether they are young or old is not acceptable. I do not understand how a relationship with your child turns to the point where they feel it is ok to speak to you in a derogatory manner. As parents, we are not perfect. We will and have made mistakes in raising our children. Unless you were a brutal, horrific, low-down dirty parent, there should be no reason your child is disrespectful.
If you have young children and they are disrespectful, you need to nip this in the bud immediately. There is nothing cute about a child cussing at an adult. I have witnessed this firsthand, and I immediately had to remember that this was not my child. The parents of the child that was using vulgar language were laughing. I was beyond appalled! Teach your child about respecting you and others. Teach your child at a young age that unacceptable behavior is just that, UNACCEPTABLE.
If you have an adult child that is disrespectful to you, STOP IT NOW. I would suggest you seperate yourself from this person. I know there are times when I have to stop my adult child in mid-sentence and tell him to watch his mouth. You really could not pay my son to disrespect me. As an adult, he knows that there are some things that I do not play with, and being disrespectful is one of those things.
Something had to happen in the past, or is being tolerated in the present for you to allow ANY child to disrespect you. Whatever has happened or whatever is happening, make TODAY the day the disrespect stops. Period!

What Have You Learned

Love, Love, Love
Ladies, love is in the air. Weddings are taking place all over the city. I attended a few weddings in the past couple of weeks and they were all very, very beautiful. For the ladies that have jumped the broom, congratulations! May God bless your new union, and may you both grow healthy, wealthy and wise.
There are many women that are single, divorced or recently seperated that seem to have given up on finding love. There is someone for everyone. I really believe that.
Don't give up on finding that special someone to spend your life with. Sometimes we have to go through the rotten fruit to get to the good.
I meet a lot of single men that say there are no good women around. They want the same values in a woman that women want in them. Honesty, loyalty, hard worker, a person who puts family first.
Before you can build a relationship with someone, make sure you are mentally and spiritually ready. Clear up your baggage first. Know what it means to be in a relationship. Make sure your relationship has a SOLID foundation before you start to build on it.
Love is a beautiful thing and it is in the air. Take a long whiff and enjoy.

A Good Day
I had the wonderful opportunity to spend the day with a friend that I have known for over 20 years, but have not seen in over 10 years. It was so good to catch up on what has transpired in our journey of life. We laughed, cried and laughed some more. We talked about our children. We remembered our parents, who have passed on to a better place.
We talked about how blessed we are to be able to live another day. We talked politics and the economy. We talked about our passion to help others. We talked about our trials and tribulations. We talked about the wonderful mercy of God.
I know that this person is more than a friend to me, he is also a blessing. When you have the time to sit back and talk to a true friend, you realize that life is and has been really good.

Take The Time And Reflect
Ladies, take the time and reflect back on the things you use to love to do. For me, I use to love to dance. I use to teach dancing back in the day. It was a way for me to express my feelings, coordinate beautiful movement and give people joy when they learned a step.
Take the time and reflect back on a time before you had children, a husband, family. What was it that you loved to do? Did you love to knit, rug hooking, cooking, dancing or play double dutch? When I reflect back, it definitely brings a smile to my face. There was a time when worry and stress was a foreign word. There was a time when people smiled at each other, and said hello. There was a time when ladies behaved like a lady, and men were men. I take the time to reflect and pass on my history to my family and my granddaughter.
Take the time and reflect back on a time that you were just happy to be alive and carefree. The joyous feeling you get when you reflect back is the joy I want you to pass on today.
